Sofa, Couch and Leather Cleaning 773-885-8528

Sofa cleaning, Couch cleaning, Leather furniture cleaning.  Believe it or not all three can be different.  A couch usually carries an embroidered design and is weaved with nice patterns and a very classy look.  A sofa is a long upholstered seat for at least three people and up to 9 in some instances, like sectional sofas.  And of course, leather is a fabric all in itself that begs a totally different type of cleaning method altogether.

Thus, when your furniture needs a good deep cleaning service, you need a professional who can recognize the difference and cleaning it accordingly.  There are so many products on the market for cleaning synthetics and those that are designed to clean fine upholstery and high grade leather.  Use of the wrong one on either can be disastrous.  That is why it is not recommended that the customer try to do it themselves.  There are books upon books and readings about DIY (do it yourself) and as explicit and as carefully written as these may be, they don't afford you the experience and training necessary in getting the job done right and not destroying your piece.

And let's face it.  No chemical is across the board at cleaning, de-staining or deodorizing and sanitizing every piece of fabric and design out there.  That's why we have different solutions for different fabrics.  With that said if you are looking to "RESOLVE" your issue by using one type of chemical for every fabric or even every single stain, you are being misled.  Sometimes the problem is exacerbated by using such sprays and compounds.  Sometimes, the customer has experienced fading, discoloration, or outright ruin of a fabric.  Is it the manufacturer's fault, that is the one who makes the spray?  Usually not.  Because we as consumers have a tendency toward a quick fix.  And sometimes we don't read the label.  We go by what we've seen on T.V.  NOT!!!  That is a big mistake because no chemical can handle everything.  It just goes to reason, different fabrics and weaves require different solutions to clean them.

The best thing to do is call the professional upholstery cleaner in your area and get answers to your questions, and get the job done professionally by someone who is certified and trained.  You can rest assured that the upholstery cleaning specialist will get your furniture, whether it be a sofa, couch, ottoman, loveseat, sectional sofa or leather furniture looking its absolute best and smelling fresh too.

So, be careful with the do it yourself thinking.  In some cases it could be great.  In others, DIY could spell disaster.

Sofa Cleaning (Chicago) 773-885-8528

We get all kinds of calls for professional sofa cleaning and for upholstery cleaning of various fabrics and weaves.  Of all the calls for sofa cleaning services, no fabric is asked about more than microfiber sofa cleaning.  Microfiber actually responds quite well to professional steam cleaning and spot treatment alike.  By comparison, microfiber is 1/100th the diameter of a human hair and 1/20th the diameter of a strand of silk. The most common types of microfibers are made from polyesters, polyamides (e.g., nylon, kevlar, nomex, trogamide), or a conjugation of polyester, polyamide, and polypropylene (Prolen).  What does this mean to the consumer and the cleaning professional?  A fabric that responds well to cleaning applications.  Since many towels are made in the microfiber genre they can be used repeatedly without having to discard them.  Thus, they hold up well over time’s wear and tear.  The same with the microfiber sofa.

Leather Upholstery Cleaning

Because of the chemistry of the synthetic materials put together, they respond well to wine spills, pop, crayon, and other potentially nasty stains.  It turns out that out of every 10 calls received for professional upholstery cleaning, at least 6 of those calls are related to a microfiber fabric for cleaning.  If the furniture you need cleaning is done by a professional who is certified and trained, it will come out looking almost like new.  There are still some stains that are a bit tougher to deal with than most, that is pet stains and pet odors.  No fabric is completely fool-proof when it comes to pet treatment needs.  But, still in all microfiber responds to the challenge well.  The microfiber sofa is the cleaning tech’s best friend.  Why?  Because like a true friend, it responds when called upon to do so.
